2012年は、ビートルズのデビュー50周年だけれど、ボブ・ディランのデビュー50周年でもある。

わたしがディランを知ったのは1966年で、ラジオでは「ライク・ア・ローリング・ストーン」がしきりにかかっていた。

レコード店でみつけた2枚組の企画アルバムを買って、無造作にコードを刻むアコスティック・ギターと、語尾を投げ捨てるような強烈な歌い方に夢中になった。

ディランは、アコスティック・ギター1本でも、最初からロックだった。

ディランはいまも元気で、終わりのないツアーを続け、新しいアルバムを発表し続けている。

ボブ・ディラン、デビュー30周年には、錚々たるミュージシャンが集まって、ライブがおこなわれ、テレビ放映され、全部ではないが、DVDやCDになっている。このイベントを見たときの興奮からもう20年も過ぎているなんて、ふしぎな気分だ。

ジョージ・ハリスンは、「イフ・ノット・フォ・ユー」と「アブソリュートリー・スイート・マリー」を歌い、わたしをよろこばせた。

エリック・クラプトンは、「くよくよするなよ」をすばらしいブルースに編曲して、感動させてくれた。

ニール・ヤングのジミヘンばりの「見晴らし塔からずっと」は、このイベントのハイライトのひとつで、あらためてニール・ヤングの無骨で気合のこもったギターに酔った。

その他書ききれないほどの出演者と演奏で・・・生涯忘れられないロック・イベントのひとつである。

ボブ・ディラン50周年では、4枚組のコンピレーションアルバムが発売され、いまこれを聴いている。すごいヴォリュームで、4枚もあるとなかなか消化しきれない。全体が見えてくるのは、まだまだこれからだ。

参加ミュージシャンは、知っているひとも多いが、知らないひとも多い（笑）。ともかく大変なメンバーが、ディランをカバーしている。
